The Parent-Child Program is a special time for caregivers and children to connect in a warm, home-like setting that reflects the friendly atmosphere of a Waldorf early childhood classroom. Through guided play, art projects, and movement games, parents and children interact in ways that foster closeness and understanding. This special time helps create a deep emotional connection, allowing families to grow closer.
It is a tradition in Waldorf Education for the 8th grade to embark on an extended trip toward the end of the school year, close to graduation. It is both a right of passage and an opportunity for the students and their teacher, many who have been together for 8 years, to explore the world and bond even further with each other through unique experiences and new surroundings. Our class recently returned from such a trip that included art, history, medieval architecture, canals, biking, multicultural experiences and service. Where did we go? Amsterdam!
Ms. Mason described her leadership styles as four-fold: “part facilitation--gathering input from everyone and listening for the common goal; part mediation--building bridges between people and groups; part strategic vision--working backwards from the goal to take the exact action steps needed; and part intuition--meditate, pray, and sleep on it...the guidance will always come!”
