VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
LIBRARIAN/CURRICULUM RESOURCE COORDINATOR
This volunteer position is ideal for a community member who has a love of the Waldorf curriculum, is interested in learning more about it, or is in Waldorf training. The position offers connection with faculty, parents, and students within the school community. Please send resume your resume to administration@waldorfdupage.org.
Commitment of 5-10 hours/week
The position will involve collecting and inventorying our current library resources, developing and creating an automated and traditional card catalog, and collaborating with class teachers to support the educational process.
You will develop and maintain resources appropriate to the curriculum, students, and philosophy of Waldorf education.
You will Establish procedures for selection, acquisition, and circulation of materials.
You will participate in the DEI Committee to effectively support the goals of DEI and promote the school’s Strategic Plan through the functions of the Librarian role.
You will assist teachers in promoting reading and providing reading experiences for students, identifying high quality, appropriate online research data bases and sources for student research, and in gathering curriculum resources as they plan lessons.
Personal qualities, knowledge, and skills needed:
Knowledge and understanding of libraries: collection development, organization and circulation.
Teaching experience desirable.
Knowledge of Waldorf education in general and The Waldorf School of DuPage in particular.
Flexibility, creativity, self-awareness and a love of reading and learning.
Willingness and ability to establish and maintain professional collegial relationships in a mutually respectful fashion with teaching faculty, staff, and administration.
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE LEAD
This volunteer position is ideal for a community member who has a love of nature and caring for it, is handy in general building maintenance, and has the ability to manage and prioritize maintenance and repair needs. PARENT COUNCIL CHAIR (OR MEMBER)
The Waldorf School of DuPage is seeking to reinstate the Parent Council, which was not in council during the 2020-2021 school year due to covid.
